OTTAWA — Today, both Liberal and Conservative leaders are hitting the campaign trail in key Ontario regions.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney is set to make a morning announcement in Brampton, Ontario, before heading to Hamilton for an afternoon of meetings with supporters and volunteers.
Meanwhile, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre will begin his day with a press conference in Milton and wrap it up with a rally in Breslau later in the evening.
The Greater Toronto Area (GTA), along with Hamilton, boasts a population of over seven million as of 2021, accounting for nearly 20 percent of Canada’s total population. These regions remain crucial battlegrounds in the ongoing election campaign.
A recent Leger poll, conducted online and without a margin of error, reveals that 48 percent of Ontarians plan to vote Liberal, compared to 39 percent who intend to vote Conservative, and 9 percent who support the NDP.
Elsewhere, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will focus his efforts in Saskatoon, where he will make an announcement and meet with the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations.
The day’s events highlight the shifting political dynamics in Ontario as the election draws closer.
