The Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) announced on Wednesday that Robert Sikora has resigned from his position as Chair, effective immediately.
The board shared the news through a public statement posted online, though it did not specify the reasons behind Sikora’s departure.
While he steps down from his role as Chair, Sikora will remain a trustee on the WCDSB. In the interim, Vice-Chair Linda Cuff will take over as Acting Chair.
A special meeting has been scheduled for April 14, during which a new Chair for the Catholic school board will be elected.
The statement concluded with a note of appreciation for Sikora’s leadership, signed by both Cuff and WCDSB Director of Education, Tyrone Dowling.
