A 24-year-old man from Kitchener has been arrested and charged following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of a loaded handgun and various drugs.

Details of the Traffic Stop

According to the Waterloo Regional Police, the incident occurred just before 1 p.m. on Friday in the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and Victoria Street South. Officers conducted a proactive traffic stop in this location.

Arrest and Charges

Upon being pulled over, the driver provided officers with a fake name, leading to his arrest for obstructing police. During the subsequent search, officers found and seized suspected cocaine, oxycodone, cannabis, hydromorphone, and a loaded handgun.

Charges Filed

The Kitchener man now faces multiple charges related to firearms and drugs, in addition to the charge of obstructing police.
