Police are currently investigating an incident where a 56-year-old man was struck by a vehicle in Kitchener last Friday evening.
Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of the incident around 8:30 p.m. on Weber St. E, close to Madison Ave. The victim was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old man from Michigan, traveling south on Weber St.
The injured pedestrian was promptly taken to a local hospital, thankfully with non-life-threatening injuries.
Due to the ongoing investigation, Weber St. E was temporarily closed between Madison Ave. and Cedar St. for several hours, but has since reopened.
This event serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to remain vigilant, especially in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic.
