Nationwide Search for Kitchener Homicide Suspect
In a significant development, authorities have intensified their efforts to apprehend 21-year-old Habiton Solomon, who is currently on the run. Solomon is implicated in the tragic shooting death of 18-year-old Joshua Tarnue, which occurred in downtown Kitchener, Ontario, in August 2023. This incident has prompted a comprehensive billboard and social media campaign aimed at capturing Solomon, who is also wanted by the Hamilton Police Service for his involvement in a separate shooting incident in downtown Hamilton in July 2023.
Solomon faces serious charges, including discharging a firearm with intent and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm. In response to these grave allegations, the Bolo Program, in collaboration with Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers, has announced a substantial reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to Solomon’s arrest. This reward is part of a broader initiative to secure Solomon’s capture and will remain available until December 3, 2024.
On April 23, during a press conference organized by La Fondation Stéphan Crétier, Toronto Police, and Toronto Crime Stoppers, Solomon was officially listed among Canada’s top 25 most wanted fugitives. This designation underscores the urgency and importance of locating him.
Authorities have issued a stern warning to the public, advising against approaching Solomon, who is considered armed and dangerous. Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the police or Crime Stoppers immediately. Solomon is known to have connections in several cities across Ontario, including Ottawa, North Bay, Huntsville, Brantford, and Windsor, and is believed to be actively evading arrest within the province.
