Adorned in the Kitchener Rangers’ iconic red and blue, a vibrant new mural has been unveiled in the Movement Room at KidsAbility’s newest King Street facility. This launch celebrates a 14-year partnership that has brought joy, play, and physical movement to children and families across Waterloo Region.
KidsAbility now serves over 17,000 children, youth, and families in Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington. By partnering with the Kitchener Rangers and Rangers Reach, the organization has expanded its rehabilitation services, reaching even more kids who might otherwise miss out on critical support.
“The Kitchener Rangers Movement Room is a testament to our shared commitment,” said Jennifer Foster, CEO of KidsAbility. “Their generous donation for the renovation of our new facility helps each child explore their own way to move, focus, learn, and socialize through play.” Her words echo the sentiment that movement and play are as vital as academic learning—a notion as timeless as Mark Twain’s belief in the importance of curiosity.
The transformation of the Movement Room began in November 2023 when the Kitchener Rangers announced a $100,000 contribution to the KidsAbility Foundation. This funding has been instrumental in creating a dedicated therapy space where children can thrive.
On February 19, a ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together team members and the greater Waterloo community. Families using KidsAbility’s services gathered to witness firsthand how the investment had translated into a lively, interactive space. Imagine a day when every child finds a new way to move—a day that sparks a smile, much like a well-timed punchline from a favorite comedian.
Does your community feel the impact of partnerships that truly care? This mural and the new Movement Room stand as a beacon of hope, showing how creative collaboration can transform lives.
