A significant road reconstruction endeavor is set to commence in Cambridge on Monday, promising a transformation for a segment of Beverly Street.

The project will be executed in phases to minimize disruptions to local residents and traffic. The initial phase will concentrate on Beverly Street, extending from just north of the CP rail tracks to the junction of Samuelson Street and Elgin Street North.

The City of Cambridge has issued advisories regarding closures in the following zones, effective Monday:

Beverly Street will be inaccessible to through traffic from slightly above Dundas Street North to Samuelson Street throughout the project, expected to conclude by December. Samuelson Street is also shut down between Kimberly Road and Elgin Street North. Detour routes have been established in the vicinity.

The project encompasses a range of enhancements for Beverly Street, notably the installation of a new pedestrian underpass alongside the existing vehicle underpass.

Additionally, the road reconstruction project includes:

  • Replacement of all subterranean utilities and surface infrastructure.
