In just over 24 hours, there have been three collisions involving the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system.
The latest incident occurred Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m. on Caroline Street in Waterloo. Police reported that no one was injured, and the investigation is ongoing. The crash briefly disrupted ION service between Waterloo Public Square and Grand River Hospital stations, though service was restored to its regular schedule about an hour later.
Earlier that same day, another LRT-related collision took place just after 10:30 a.m. in the area of King Street and Agnes Street in Kitchener. Police confirmed that no injuries were reported, and the driver involved was charged with making an unsafe turn.
This follows a similar incident on Monday at around 10 a.m. in Kitchener, near the intersection of Borden Avenue and Courtland Avenue. That crash sent one person to the hospital for assessment.
Authorities continue to investigate the incidents.
