An early morning incident in Uptown Waterloo left several people injured after a noxious substance, believed to be bear mace, was sprayed outside a bar.
Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of a disturbance around 2:25 a.m. on Friday in the King Street North bar district. According to police, an unidentified man approached a group of people before allegedly spraying them with the irritant and fleeing the scene.
Several individuals sustained minor injuries. Some were treated on-site by paramedics, while others were transported to a local hospital for further care.
In an effort to identify the suspect, regional police have released a photo of a man they believe may be connected to the incident and are seeking assistance from the public.
