An early morning act of vandalism has prompted a police investigation in Kitchener, after hate-motivated graffiti was discovered at city hall.
Waterloo Regional Police confirmed they were called around 1:30 a.m. on March 22 in response to a report of graffiti near one of the building’s entrances. The message had been spray-painted along a walkway leading into the facility.
In a statement shared with CityNews, an officer verified that the incident is being treated as hate-motivated. Authorities have not released further details about the content of the graffiti but confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Police are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to come forward.
Hate has no place in our communities—especially not at the symbolic heart of local democracy.
